A trip to Ouray Ice Park is the ultimate way to enjoy the beautiful winter wonderland. The park has been open every winter since 1993 and attracts ice climbers from around the world. The park is a nonprofit organization that depends on membership fees and donations for its continued operation. Membership options range from $40 to $150 per year and include discounts on lodging and special events at the ice park. Getting there is free and easy, but it’s recommended that you visit the park early in the winter months, so you can maximize your time on the ice.

During the winter months, Ouray is buzzing with activity. From mid-December to mid-March, the park offers a wide variety of climbs. The park is only fifteen to thirty minutes walk from downtown. Climbing clinics are held throughout the season, and you can learn about the sport from instructors. Alternatively, you can take classes at the Paradox Sports Adaptive Climbing Centre.
